After the Juventus Men’s First Team drew 1-1 with Sporting CP in the League Phase of the Champions League, coach Luciano Spalletti and Teun Koopmeiners spoke.

“I’m pleased with the performance of the team. We showed that we have character, and the guys showed their desire to win the game. If we play like this going forward, we’ll win plenty of matches. Playing against Sporting isn’t easy, they have quick and technical players and a very good coach who sets his team up well. The reaction we got right from the start gave me hope, it seemed as though the whole stadium understood the team’s approach well, and that’s a good sign.”

TEUN KOOPMEINERS

“In the first quarter of an hour we weren’t pressing perfectly, then we were aggressive defensively and had chances to score too. It’s disappointing that we couldn’t find another goal because this game was there to be won, it was also important for our place in the standings. There are a lot of good things to take from the game, but also others that we need to improve on.”
