Coach Igor Tudor, Kenan Yildiz, Khephren Thuram, Francisco Conceicao and Michele Di Gregorio spoke to the press after Juventus’ 4-1 win against Wydad AC on Matchday two of the FIFA Club World Cup Group Stage.

IGOR TUDOR

“It was a slightly different match, also because of the time of day which lowered the pace of the game. The opponents had prepared well, but starting with an early goal helped us. In football, however, nothing is taken for granted, and I stay alert even with a two- or three-goal lead. The boys did well, two good wins in a row. Tonight they will enjoy a free dinner, they have earned it. Now attention turns to Manchester City, a great test awaits us. Yildiz? He has huge potential, he has rare qualities: he can make the difference up front with the dynamism of a midfielder. He's a special talent, but it's his mentality that will take him far. [Dusan] Vlahovic approached today with the right attitude, he played for the group. And [Manuel] Locatelli's gesture of letting him take the penalty was a true leader's gesture.”

KENAN YILDIZ

“I believe I scored a hat-trick, although I am officially credited with a brace. My second goal is perhaps the most beautiful of my career, I am overjoyed, and I am very happy because the team is also growing game after game.”

“We put in a professional performance, having worked well as a team, and it was good to win today. It was neither easy nor simple, Wydad play well on the counter-attack, and have a good midfield. The coach asks me to turn the team around, defend well with aggression and provide quality going forward: the midfielders must be able to do everything.”

FRANCISCO CONCEICAO

“It was a tough match against a physical opponent, with many fouls, but we managed to impose our style of play. We have already qualified [for the Round of 16], but we want to face [Manchester] City to win. Every challenge is different: today, despite the constant fouls of a single player, we maintained our identity and brought home the result, which is what matters most. The heat made it difficult, but that must not be an excuse: we know the difficulties and we remain focused on our work, which we are doing in the best way possible.”

MICHELE DI GREGORIO

“We prepared well with the coach both for this match and the previous one, aware that we should never let our guard down, and it showed on the pitch: we put in a good performance. I'm disappointed with the goal we conceded, because when we were 2-0 up we had the situation under control, then they came back into the game a bit. Even if we didn’t take many risks, with a one-goal lead you always need to be very careful. In the second half we started strong and secured the result. Playing against [Manchester] City is very exciting: it's a wonderful competition and playing against one of the best teams in the world will certainly be exciting.”
