Trabzonspor remain in the hunt for Gianluca Prestianni and are readying a fresh approach, but Benfica are standing firm on a fee of around €20m. Record writes that Rui Costa will only consider a sale if an offer at that level arrives.
The Turkish club had an initial bid rejected, with both the valuation and the deal structure failing to convince Benfica’s hierarchy. Talks did not progress after that opening attempt.
Several meetings are planned in the coming days to shape a revised proposal, while Trabzonspor are also weighing alternatives in attack, including Darío Osório.
Benfica have no intention of easing Prestianni’s exit, stressing the Argentine’s scope for development and insisting any fee must reflect their investment and his potential. The club bought 85% of his rights from Vélez Sarsfield for about €9m.
Prestianni is currently unavailable to Marco Silva’s side as he must serve a UEFA suspension, so he will miss the tie against St. Gallen. That situation does not change Benfica’s stance, and only an offer considered irresistible would be entertained. The situation could develop over the course of this week.
