QPR have picked up 1 point and currently lie in 18th position. In their last game, Julien Stéphan's team lost 2-1 against Watford (EFL Championship 2025/26).

The last meeting between the two teams ended with Coventry City winning 1-0.

The Fan Zone

Ross Cooper (SkyBlues Extra): Back to the CBS Arena for Coventry City this weekend as they gear up for Championship Matchday 3, and we welcome QPR as our visitors on Saturday afternoon.

I think the team similarly to us fans will be going into this game full of confidence, particularly from an attacking standpoint, coming off the back of scoring 5 goals away at Derby last time out which saw us victorious in a bonkers game at Pride Park.

Another big crowd will be in attendance and hopeful of an improvement from the only other home game so far this season, an opening day goalless draw. So some attacking, incisive play like what we showed away at Derby needs to be reproduced this weekend.

5 different goalscorers highlights the threats we possess in a multitude of positions and that is our biggest strength.

However for all the positives that we took away from our 3-5 win last weekend, the manner of the 3 goals against, is certainly an area for mild concern. The ease in which we give up opportunities when there is seemingly no danger, proved to be an issue last season and again reared it's head last week.

We need to have a solid base, keep clean sheets, make it hard for QPR and if we do that we give ourselves a superb opportunity to go and win the game. But if we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot then it could be another turbulent 90+ minutes.

The other interesting dynamic is that a lot of sides come to the CBS Arena and look to sit deep and sray compact and I haven't yet felt convinced that we have the nuance to open up that stubborn style defence. I have always felt that a end to end m, transition game suits us more naturally.

But Lampard likes us to control games and maintain lots of attacks and we need to find ways of forcing teams to succumb to the pressure we mount them under.

Prediction: 3-1
