An exciting West Yorkshire derby awaits Leeds United Women this weekend, who return to FA WNL Division One North action with a trip to face Huddersfield Town Women away from home.

The Whites will be keen to recapture their best form, after slipping to defeats in their previous two encounters in the league.

Most recently, Simon Wood’s side were narrowly edged out by Middlesbrough on Teesside, despite enjoying a large share of possession in the North East.

Last weekend, however, attentions briefly turned to County Cup duties, where United progressed to the next round with a convincing win over Huddersfield Amateurs.

Leeds sit third in the National League North standings, three points adrift of table topping Cheadle Town, whilst Huddersfield find themselves back in fifth position.

After relegation from the third-tier last campaign, the Terriers have won six of their 12 matches to date, drawing four times and losing twice.

Yet to play in 2025 after an earlier clash with Chorley fell foul of the weather, Glen Preston’s side were last in FAWNL action when they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Stockport County before Christmas.
