Hull City welcome Southampton to the MKM Stadium on Saturday, with just a single point separating the two sides in the bottom half of the Championship table.

Both teams were forced to settle for draws last weekend, while the Saints’ result stretched their winless league run to four games since relegation from the Premier League.

The last time these clubs met, Hull came out on top with a 2-1 victory.

The Fan Zone

Joe Collins (To Hull and Back Podcast): Possibly our toughest game of the season so far this weekend.

Although Southampton haven’t set the world alight so far, they’re fresh out the Premier League and have one of the best squads in the division.

Injury wise, we are getting stronger by the week. No fresh concerns for Sergej Jakirovi?. Brandon Williams is back from a concussion, Semi Ajayi and Matt Crooks should return from injury next week, Liam Millar is nearing a return after nearly a year on the sidelines - it’s looking good.

Looking back at Swansea, the performance of new signing Amir Hadžiahmetovi? (try saying that after a few pints) really impressed me. I was sceptical, given he’s another player signed from Turkey. But he looked composed, tidy and seems to have settled into life in England well.

Unfortunately, however, I don’t see us getting anything more than a point out of this one.

Prediction: 2-2

Joseph Adamson (TheStatsSaint): Southampton head to Hull in bad form, struggling to adapt to life in the lower tiers - yet Hull are one of the relegation favourites, and with Southampton tipped for promotion it's clear who the favourites will be.

Southampton spent £50m in the transfer window (net spend -£60m), and are looking to integrate these new signings into a very strong squad. Will Still changed his system to his 4231 against Portsmouth, and we're likely to see that again.

Whether this will reap rewards is up in the air, but we should start some momentum being built.

Prediction: 0-3
