Norway face Senegal in their second Group I match at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey tomorrow morning. The Vikings enter the clash on the back of a 4-1 win over Iraq last Tuesday, a result which leaves them top of Group I.
Norway won all eight of their World Cup qualifying matches and have also won three in their last six games across all competitions, drawing two and losing one. Norway will secure a place in the last 32 if they beat Senegal, regardless of the result between France and Iraq.
Norway have appeared at the FIFA World Cup four times, including this year’s tournament, with their best performance coming in 1998, when they reached the Round of 16. They have won three out of their last six matches across all competitions, while also recording two draws and one defeat.
Meanwhile, Senegal head into the match on the back of a 3-1 defeat to 2022 runners-up France. Senegal has only won three of their last six matches across all competitions, losing two and drawing one. They could be close to a four-game winless run if they suffer defeat against Norway tomorrow evening.
The two sides have only met once in international football, with Senegal claiming a 2-1 victory over Norway in a 2006 friendly.
The match tomorrow will mark the first time the nations have faced each other at the FIFA World Cup group stage.
The match will kick off at 1am in the UK and will be broadcast live on ITV 1 and available to stream on ITVX, STV player and BBC iPlayer.
