Manchester United make the trip to the City Ground on Saturday to take on Nottingham Forest in Matchweek 10 of the Premier League campaign.

Sean Dyche’s side are desperate for a lift after a slow start to the season, sitting 18th with just five points on the board. Their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend only added to the pressure, and they’ll be keen to use home advantage to spark a response.

United, meanwhile, arrive in far brighter spirits. Ruben Amorim’s men are unbeaten in their last three league outings and moved up to sixth following a 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. With confidence returning, the visitors will see this as a chance to push closer to the top four.

Forest did have United’s number last season, winning both meetings, so the Red Devils will have extra motivation to put that right this time around.

The Fan Zone

Rich Ferraro (1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast): After a whirlwind few days involving a victory (and much needed clean sheet) against Porto, and the antithesis with a flat 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth, Sean Dyche will have been absolutely delighted to have a few days to work with his squad.

Understandably, the Reds looked a bit tired and shellshocked in the latter match, after a week in which Ange Postecoglou was unceremoniously dispatched, Dyche came in, but the matches still came thick and fast.

Dyche certainly made a good first impression and both he and the club leaned into his previous Forest connections, but we all know that this is a results game. For Reds fans of a certain age (including the gaffer and his coaching staff), a game against Man United is a big deal, so if he wants to continue winning over the fans, a result against the resurgent Red Devils would definitely go a long way.

There are a few question marks over the squad; Dyche's favourite striker number 9 Chris Wood has been carrying an injury, so I wonder if Taiwo Awoniyi might get a chance to create a bit of chaos? Likewise, record signing Omari Hutchinson has made an impression off the bench so will hope for a chance; however, despite calls from some Forest fans, I cannot see Morgan Gibbs-White being dropped, so James McAtee will need to continue playing the waiting game.

Prediction: 1-1

Richard Cole (Playmakerstats): Three wins on the bounce and suddenly there is a very good feeling around Old Trafford, especially with what look like a nicer run of fixtures than the tough start Ruben Amorim's side already had.

Forest though are going to prove to be very different opposition to Brighton and Liverpool though and it's still early days for Sean Dyche at the club to truly know what to expect.

However, United should have the quality to see this one through but it may not be as easy as expect. As Amorim likes to say, United may need to suffer a little.

Most importantly, if the front three are in form again then there should be confidence of another win. This time though, United may need to be more direct and rely on 'Air Sesko'.

Prediction: 1-3
