Sheffield United and QPR go head-to-head at Bramall Lane this Saturday in the EFL Championship.
The Blades sit 23rd in the table with nine points so far, following a 3–1 defeat to Coventry City in their last outing under Chris Wilder.
QPR, meanwhile, are 16th with 18 points but also suffered defeat last time out, losing 2–1 to Southampton under Julien Stéphan.
Both sides head into the weekend looking to end three-game losing streaks. Sheffield United have slipped four points adrift of safety, while QPR remain just a point outside the top half despite their recent dip in form.
The last meeting between the two teams ended with the Blades winning 2-1.
theo (allthingsblades): Sheffield United are now guaranteed to be in the bottom three heading into the international break, but three points would do them the world of good before the Steel City derby.
The Blades host QPR who are also currently struggling with one win in their last five, losing three in a row as well as Sheffield United.
I can’t see anything other than a draw in this game as no side currently looks like they want to win or have the quality to do so. A boring 1-1 is my prediction and definitely a game to forget.
Prediction: 1-1
Ben Platt (W12 Podcast): QPR head into this one still searching for consistency. A word that will always have “QPRs form” next to it in the dictionary. Performances have shown promise, but too often we’ve let points slip after decent spells. Defensively we look shoddy, too many mistakes and lapses in focus keep costing us. Up front, we’re creating chances but not converting enough of them — that final bit of quality in the box is still missing. We have centre midfielders who aren’t defending or attacking, wingers out of form and seem to want to invert, leaving our CB full-backs to attack.
Team selection changes each week have disrupted rhythm. Aside from Watford we have used the most players this season and we haven’t played the same side for nearly 2 months.
The feeling among fans is Saturday is a ready made Sheff Utd win. We are often the side that gifts wins to teams that need them and I expect Saturday to be no different.
Team news for Rangers is difficult to predict. We could see many changes to that of Wednesday. Poku looks to be out again, Frey was missing mid-week, the Clarke-Salter search party is out again and Kolli appears to have been frozen out of the first team. Expect to see Kone come back into the team though this weekend.
Prediction: 2-0
