Poppy Pritchard has joined Barclays Women’s Championship side Newcastle for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
The young forward spent the first half of the season on loan at fellow Barclays Women’s Super League outfit Crystal Palace.
Gaining valuable experience with the Eagles, Pritchard made five appearances in South London before returning to City earlier in January.
And now the England Under-19 international will head to the North East to join Newcastle, embarking on their first season in the second tier.
The Magpies currently sit seventh in the table, losing just twice in their opening nine league matches.
They have also progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they face our young forward’s former loan side, Crystal Palace, in early February.
Pritchard, who started her career at Durham before joining City in the January transfer window last season, will also link up with former team-mate Demi Stokes at Newcastle.
The forward is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues but, after impressing in England’s youth system and at Palace, she’ll now continue her development with the Magpies for the rest of 2024/25.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Poppy the best of luck during her loan spell at Newcastle.
