Promoted AS Cannes keep targets modest as Ligue 3 era begins | OneFootball

Two years after the Friedkin Group took over, AS Cannes return to the professional game this summer in the National, rebranded as Ligue 3. Publicly, survival is the only target, while a longer plan is being shaped with an eye on Ligue 2.

According to L'Équipe, promotion was clinched at Pierre-de-Coubertin in front of a sell-out, the first such crowd for more than 20 years outside the Coupe de France.

Sporting director Djamal Mohamed and head coach Mathieu Chabert were central to the celebrations.

A few days later, around 50 players and staff were invited onto the Festival’s red carpet, usually reserved for cinema stars.

In suits and with AS Cannes red scarves, club figures climbed the famous steps.
