Prosper Peter and Sofiane Boufal took top billing in an entertaining 1-1 between Angers and Le Havre. L'Équipe highlighted the pair in a result that nudged both sides towards safety.
Boufal struck on 13 minutes with a powerful right-foot finish, his first Ligue 1 goal since 15 January 2023 and his first in any competition since 14 May 2024. Peter could not convert a fine Van den Boomen pass on 27 minutes, then scored on 28 after good work by Raolisoa for his fifth of the season.
The 19-year-old almost had a second soon after the restart on 48 minutes. Angers goalkeeper Hervé Koffi impressed despite conceding, making key saves from Soumaré on 52 and 60 minutes and from Lloris on 79, and easing pressure with his aerial claims.
Le Havre captain Arouna Sangante was sent off on 75 minutes for a high boot on Belkebla’s knee, repeating a similar dismissal here last season and mirroring an early red against Toulouse in the same area. Boufal was withdrawn for Pembélé on 80 minutes, with Peter replaced by Koyalipou on 81.
Rassoul Ndiaye covered ground, won a team-high 16 duels for HAC and carried the ball well, though his finishing and a few risky turnovers checked his impact. For Angers, Ousmane Camara endured a difficult first half, repeatedly exposed and missing a tackle before Soumaré’s move in the build-up to the opener, and he was replaced at the break by Biumla.
