PSG resumed pre-season at Poissy on Monday with only nine senior players, most internationals still on post-World Cup leave.
According to L'Équipe, Champions League final starters Matveï Safonov and Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia trained alongside Lucas Beraldo, Lucas Chevalier, Dro Fernandez, Senny Mayulu and Illia Zabarnyi, plus goalkeepers Alessandro Longoni and Quentin Ndjantou. The session featured running and ball work.
With three goalkeepers and six outfielders, it was not enough to field a team as the club awaits staggered returns, four weeks off from World Cup elimination. Willian Pacho and Ibrahim Mbaye should rejoin this week, with Marquinhos, Vitinha, Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi due next week.
World champion Fabian Ruiz and the France contingent have had their break cut to three weeks. They are expected around eight to 10 August, shortly after Mallorca on five August and Manchester United on eight August, then the UEFA Super Cup on 12 August and the Trophée des Champions on 16 August.
A small group of supporters waited at the Gate 4 fan zone, including a family who arrived early with supplies and predicted a bigger crowd in the week of six August when internationals return. By midday about 30 were present. Safonov stopped for autographs, Kvaratskhelia did not, and some who travelled from Bordeaux or Lyon left empty-handed, though many plan to return this week and again in August.
