Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez has been dominating the headlines in the Barcelona sphere over the past 12 hours or so, after it emerged that he was set to leave the club in the current window.

The La Masia attacking midfielder, who recently turned 18, wants to move to a team where he can play regularly and continue his development, with his €6 million release clause enabling the exit.

Several top teams across Europe have emerged as suitors for the Spanish starlet, with the likes of Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and Manchester City making moves.

More recently, PSG, too, have made an offer for Dro.

Luis Enrique coy on interest

However, when asked about PSG’s interest in the Barcelona youngster during a press conference, manager Luis Enrique opted to keep his cards close to his chest.

“I don’t know, I don’t answer,” said the former Barcelona manager when quizzed about the Parisians’ plans for the January window and interest in Dro.

Dro made his first-team breakthrough in the ongoing campaign after impressing on the pre-season tour of Asia.

So far, he has made five senior appearances, in which he has one assist from a total of only 148 minutes.

Barcelona, for their part, wished to renew the youngster’s contract after he turned 18 recently, and have been surprised by the development.

It now remains to be seen where the La Masia gem ends up, with PSG being one of his possible destinations.

While there would be no guarantees that he would see more minutes at the French capital club, the presence of Enrique could be a crucial factor.
