Paris Saint-Germain sent a thunderous message to Chelsea ahead of next Sunday’s Club World Cup final, dismantling Real Madrid 4–0 in a tremendous semi-final performance in New Jersey.
The reigning European champions came flying out of the traps, scoring twice in the opening eight minutes to stun a disjointed Madrid.
Two early goals - the first from Fabián Ruiz in the sixth minute after a mistake in the box, and just two minutes later, Ousmane Dembélé doubled the lead with a blistering run and finish after yet another defensive error.
Fabián doubled his tally in the 24th minute, latching on to a low Hakimi cross to make it 3–0 and all but seal the deal before the break.
The Spanish giants simply couldn’t cope with PSG’s intensity. Their backline was all over the place, and there was little cohesion in midfield.
It wasn't until the 86th minute that the Italian keeper was forced into a save, comfortably handling Éder Militão’s long-range effort. By then, PSG had already shifted into cruise control.
Gonçalo Ramos added a fourth late on with a smart finish after being picked out by the lively Bradley Barcola, who notched his second assist of the tournament to cap a dominant evening for Luis Enrique’s side.
PSG are just one step away from being crowned world champions — only Chelsea remain, with the final kicking off this Sunday, July 13.
