Indeed, he joined Inter from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 and helped the club win the Scudetto in this first year.

However, little did anyone know the 26-year-old would leave Italy months after lifting the league title.

Les Parisiens splashed out €60 million to sign the Morocco international, who has since become irreplaceable in Paris.

Hakimi’s PSG squeezed past Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie last night.

As a result of a 1-0 win in London, Luis Enrique’s men have set one foot in the Munich showpiece.

Meanwhile, Inter will meet Barcelona in the other last-four match-up tonight.

“If I had to play against Inter, it would be a special match for me because of the year I spent there,” Hakimi said.

“I’m very happy about my time with the Nerazzurri. Inter will always have a place in my heart.”

Recently linked with a shock transfer to Inter, Gianluigi Donnarumma had a stellar night at the Emirates Stadium.

Indeed, he made several incredible saves to inspire PSG to a crucial first-leg advantage ahead of next week’s return fixture in Paris.

Hakimi praised the former AC Milan star’s performance.

“We know he’s a top-class goalkeeper, one of the best in the world,” the Moroccan added.

“We hope he can renew his contract and stay with us for a long time.

“And we’re happy he’s here and helping us, as he did today and in every other match.”
