Paris Saint-Germain will honour their Ballon d’Or champion this weekend. Ahead of their match with AJ Auxerre at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, the club will have a special tribute for Ousmane Dembélé (28).
On Monday in Paris, the 2018 World Cup champion became the sixth French player to claim the prestigious award.
Details are still unknown, but according to Le Parisien, a large crowd is expected to be on hand to honour the man who led them to their first UEFA Champions League title last season, scoring eight goals in the competition. Dembélé was also the joint top-goalscorer in another title-winning campaign for Les Parisiens in Ligue 1.
PSG suffered their first defeat of the new season on Monday, 1-0 away to Olympique de Marseille. They will seek a fourth successive league triumph at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.
Dembélé hasn’t played since sustaining an injury in France’s World Cup qualifying fixtures earlier this month. He’s missed his club side’s last three matches across all competitions.
