Luis Enrique has given his PSG squad two days of rest after their 2-0 win over Liverpool in Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg.

PSG have no fixture this weekend after their game against Lens was postponed. According to L'Équipe, Thursday was the first of the two rest days, with training to resume on Saturday at 11:00 and another session set for Sunday at the Campus before a Monday departure for the north of England.

He did the same after the 3-1 win over Toulouse.

The first meeting with the Reds left minor knocks, muscle soreness for Willian Pacho and a bloodied, blistered foot for Warren Zaïre-Emery, which are not expected to put their involvement at Anfield on Tuesday in doubt. PSG expect at least one return, with Bradley Barcola at the Campus on Thursday to continue treatment as he targets a place in the group.

A comeback for Fabian Ruiz has not been completely ruled out internally, though he has little chance of making it. Despite favourable progress, a fissure of the left kneecap is now cited to explain the lengthy recovery, and neither staff nor player considered using him while pain persisted.

Luis Enrique’s priority is to keep standards high, stressing the need to go to Anfield with the same intentions as in the first leg. 3,000 PSG supporters will be present to push the club towards a third Champions League semi-final in three years.
