Achraf Hakimi
Achraf Hakimi could have made his return to Real Madrid.
Recovering for the past few days, Achraf Hakimi has been spending a lot of time in Spain lately. The Moroccan full-back is receiving treatment at Innova, the Institute of Health and Sport based in Murcia. PSG, of course, gave their approval for Hakimi to travel, and he regularly returns to the French capital. The Lion of the Atlas is making the most of his stay on the other side of the Pyrenees to frequently visit Real Madrid, his former club. He was even present on Sunday for their match against Elche. In Spain, Hakimi’s strong connection to Los Blancos is a major talking point.
Indeed, AS published an article about him, reporting that Los Merengues were hoping to bring him back to the Bernabéu in the summer of 2026. That was the date set by Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid. He made it clear to Hakimi that if he saw out his contract, the doors of Real Madrid would be wide open for him. Hakimi was open to the idea. But after careful consideration, the Moroccan defender chose to extend his stay at PSG until 2029, having been convinced by the project led by Luis Enrique and Luis Campos. Real Madrid then moved to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold.
