Rodrygo Goes remained at Real Madrid after the summer transfer window closed, despite ongoing speculation about his next destination. Paris Saint-Germain was frequently mentioned as a potential landing spot, but no deal ever came together.

Reports on PSG’s pursuit have pointed in different directions.  Foot Mercato’s Josué Cassé stated that Rodrygo wasn’t among their targets. Meanwhile, Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg indicated that both PSG and Liverpool have been closely monitoring him, with Tottenham Hotspur no longer in the running.

A move to PSG could still happen after the season if Rodrygo doesn’t see his role expand at Real Madrid. Interest from Premier League clubs has been quieter overall, though one team seems particularly eager to make a move.

Defensa Central reports (h/t Foot01) that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Luis Campos remain very interested in a potential transfer for Rodrygo. The Brazilian, quieter and less disruptive in the locker room than Vinicius, for example, fits into PSG’s recruitment strategy.

According to the Spanish outlet’s report, his versatility and team-oriented approach are valued at the Parisian club. And while Rodrygo has a release clause set at €1 billion, Real Madrid has no intention of enforcing it.

The Merengue side doesn’t want to reach summer 2027 with a player who would have only one year left on his contract. Defensa Central adds that Florentino Pérez is expected to facilitate his departure next summer, with a price set at €100 million, which Real Madrid could quickly consider lowering.
