Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s father has said the Paris Saint-Germain winger has no intention of leaving the club this summer
Kvaratskhelia has been mentioned as a potential transfer target for top teams around Europe, withArsenal and Liverpool linked in their pursuits of high-profile wingers this summer.
The Georgia international has established a reputation as one of the best wingers in the world in Paris. After signing from Napoli last January, he helped the Parisians to quadruple success under Luis Enrique, including the club's first-everChampions League title.
He's been instrumental again in PSG's run to this season's semi-final, where the holders face Bayern Munich in their first leg this evening. The 25-year-old has scored eight goals in the Champions League, though has featured less prominently inLigue 1.
Kvaratskhelia has started only 16 league games for PSG this season, with Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue offering competition in the forward line.
Despite that, the winger's father, Badri, has said Kvaratskhelia is 'not thinking' about a potential transfer.
“Khvicha leaving PSG? He’s not thinking about that. He’s happy in Paris, where he is highly valued and respected by club," he toldKviris Palitra.
“Why should he think about moving elsewhere when he is winning titles with the team and is one of PSG’s key players?
“If PSG no longer wishes to continue the cooperation, we will consider options, but for now, this is not being discussed."
PSG host Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final this evening, in a clash between arguably Europe's top two teams. The German giants have won the Bundesliga in record-breaking fashion this season, scoring 113 goals in 31 games.
Kvaratskhelia, however, has insisted PSG are confident. Speaking at a pre-match press conference, he said: “We know we can beat any team in the world. We believe in ourselves”.
