PSG face Atletico Madrid in one of the marquee fixtures of the Club World Cup group stage this evening.
Fresh from winning the Champions League for the first time, Paris Saint-Germain have their sights set on further success on the world stage. Luis Enrique’s side are bidding to win a historic quintuple, after adding the Champions League to a domestic treble.
Atletico Madrid failed to win silverware this season but claimed a smash-and-grab win over PSG in the Champions League’s league phase. The winners of tonight’s game will be clear favourites to top a group that also contains Botafogo and Seattle Sounders.
Both sides are competing in the Club World Cup for the first time.
Ousmane Dembele is a slight doubt for Paris Saint-Germain after withdrawing from the France squad after their Nations League semi-final defeat to Spain this month. However, the Ballon d’Or contender has trained in the build-up.
Bradley Barcola will hope to replace Dembele in the side, if the club’s leading scorer is not risked. Goncalo Ramos offers a more traditional centre-forward alternative.
Luis Enrique otherwise has a full squad to select from.
PSG predicted XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes; Joao Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia.
