PSG are ready to host Monaco at the Parc des Princes on Friday evening, marking their first Ligue 1 home fixture of the campaign.
Luis Enrique’s side come into this clash hoping to move past a surprisingly sluggish opening to their domestic title defence. The French champions have not shown their normal sharpness in front of goal, managing back-to-back 2-2 stalemates with Rennes and Lille. Their domestic woes were deepened by a tight 1-0 loss to Lens in the Trophée des Champions, adding to the early-season disappointment. Tonight, the priority is clear: register their first Ligue 1 win on home soil.
PSG must cope with a small but notable headache in their lineup choices. Regular left-back Nuno Mendes is ruled out entirely as he serves the last game of his suspension. In midfield, João Neves is an injury concern and remains a late fitness test.
On the brighter side, the attack gets a major lift with Ousmane Dembélé back in full availability after being held out completely last weekend.
Summer arrival Maghnes Akliouche, a highly regarded new signing, is also fully available and is widely expected to make his first home appearance at the Parc des Princes, facing the club he previously represented.
Possible PSG starting XI: Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Digne; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fernandez; Akliouche, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia
The match will kick off at 8:05pm BST on Friday, 4th September.
Viewers in the United Kingdom can follow the PSG–Monaco showdown live on OneFootball, Amazon Prime Video, or via Ligue 1+, the official streaming service of France’s top division.
