Public prosecutor places Corinthians president Osmar Stabile under criminal investigation | OneFootball

Corinthians president Osmar Stabile has been formally placed under investigation in a criminal inquiry into the club’s emergency hiring of a security company.

According to Meu Timao, the shift was set out in a new decision signed by prosecutor Cássio Roberto Conserino within the PIC, the Criminal Investigative Procedure.

The move followed testimony from former administrative director Fábio Soares, who detailed Stabile’s role, particularly regarding a contractor linked to Fernando José da Silva, known as 'Nandão'.

One point of focus was the presence of documents and official letters signed by Fernando José da Silva as Corinthians’ operational manager, which ran counter to previous club statements about his status during the period in question.

Further steps are expected, including fresh inquiries into Fernando José da Silva’s activities and a request for additional club documents to clarify his part in administrative matters.

Stabile has been summoned for questioning on 23 June 2026, when he is due to provide an account with legal counsel present.

The decision marks a significant development in the case, with Stabile moving from a peripheral mention to a formal place on the investigation docket.
