The Federal Football Refereeing Course has been officially launched at the University of Chubut headquarters in Puerto Madryn, with support from Chubut Deportes. According to SuperDepor.com, the event marked the start of the programme.
The initiative stems from an agreement between the AFA, via the Consejo Federal, the Liga del Valle, the UADA, the Universidad del Chubut, with backing from Chubut Deportes and the municipalities of Puerto Madryn and Rawson.
Those present included the rector, Marcela Freytes, AFA Consejo Federal secretary general and Liga del Valle vice president, Osvaldo Davies, and UADA head and former international referee, Sergio Pezzotta. Also in attendance were municipal secretary for education, culture and sport, Diego González, and Chubut Deportes legal adviser, Federico Landau.
The launch emphasised the need to strengthen professional training for young people and adults interested in football refereeing through specific academic spaces. The objective is to consolidate links between education and sport.
The partnership brings together educational, municipal and sporting bodies to provide academic spaces for aspiring and active referees.
