Former Chelsea and France defender Franck Leboeuf spoke exclusively to Get French Football News about last weekend’s Champions League final, and revealed what his thoughts on the game were.

It was always going to be an ugly affair, given how Arsenal like to play, and that was exaggerated by the fact the Gunners got an early goal. But in the end, PSG broke them down.

Former France defender on PSG Champions League win

“The best team won. Football won as PSG came out on top,” Leboeuf said.

“It was a cagey game. Credit to Arsenal for making the final, but once they got ahead, they struggled to play their game and PSG were in control of the ball for most of the game. Although they didn’t create too much, they did dominate and Arsenal could have done better with the ball.

“Penalties are a lottery and you have to get the ball on target. But it was a fascinating game. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it massively, but yes the right team did win in the end.”

Well, plenty of PSG fans enjoyed it massively – or at least they did after that final penalty.

In other news…

Florentino Perez has been making some big boasts recently, and we’re not sure how he’s going to live up to them. Talk of bids for Vitinha or Joao Neves look totally unrealistic.

David Ornstein has some bad news for PSG in terms of their pursuit of one of their top targets for this summer.
