Former Juventus midfielder Giancarlo Marocchi says Khephren Thuram and Manuel Locatelli are the only players who would deserve to remain in Turin and predicts a ‘difficult’ moment for Cristiano Giuntoli this summer.

Juventus drew 1-1 away at Bologna on Sunday night, and Lazio and Roma joined them in fourth place with 63 points and just three games remaining.

The Serie A giants had started the campaign with different expectations and all the pressure is now on them to get a Champions League spot.

Ex-Juventus midfielder names two Juventus players he wouldn’t change

“Juventus are in a very difficult situation. Now, Tudor is trying to keep them focused, but, given how they play, one would be tempted to change them all aside from Thuram, who is a certainty among the new signings,” ex-Juventus midfielder Marocchi told Sky Sport.

“Obviously, it is not possible. There are other old players too, like Locatelli, who have proved to be positive and always present. The most difficult moment for Giuntoli will be when he has to decide who is confirmed and who must go.”

Juventus will face Lazio, Udinese and Venezia in the last three games of the season.

One of the most disappointing signings in Turin was Douglas Luiz, who has failed to score or assist this term, failing to justify his €50m price tag.

The Brazilian even publicly complained about his lack of playing time, replying to a Juventus fan on social media last week.

“We haven’t seen him much, but I’ve always seen him struggle in this intense and physical league. I think Juventus have a strong team,” noted ex-Inter defender Beppe Bergomi.

“Nico Gonzalez is doing better now. Juventus have options in midfield, and don’t forget about the injured defenders. I don’t know how it will end, but you can’t not restart [the new season] from those you signed, like Koopmeiners.”

Juventus’ next Serie A game is against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, May 10.
