The R's have been linked with Sebastian Jurado in previous transfer windows

Queens Park Rangers' first campaign under the management of Julien Stephan has been one of mixed fortunes, and it now appears as if the West London outfit now have one eye on developments next season.

Rangers have, at times, threatened to make a run for the Championship's play-off places for the first time since their most recent relegation from the Premier League 11 years ago, but are now sat in 12th, 10 points behind sixth-placed Southampton with just seven matches to go in the regular season.

Although, mathematically, their chances of making the top six are not over, it would take a rather unexpected turn of events to unfold between now and May 2nd for that to be the case.

Regardless, there have still been a handful of names who have caught the eye with their performance levels at Loftus Road under the Frenchman, such as the attacking and creative trio of Harvey Vale, Richard Kone and Rumarn Burrell.

The likes of Amadou Mbengue, Jimmy Dunne and Ronnie Edwards - who returned to the club on a permanent basis in January - have also been solid, despite the fact the Hoops have conceded 61 times in 39 matches.

Only Sheffield Wednesday have a worse rate of concessions - 79 - meaning it is perhaps no surprise that Stephan is looking to bolster his goalkeeper's union.

And, it also appears as though Rangers are looking to move for a previous transfer target, whose signature was also courted by divisional rivals, West Bromwich Albion.

Queens Park Rangers renew transfer interest in FC Juarez goalkeeper Sebastian Jurado

That's because, according to Mexican-based outlet, Claro Sports, Rangers have renewed their transfer interest in FC Juarez's 28-year-old homegrown goalkeeper, Sebastian Jurado.

The Heroica Veracruz-born shot-stopper has previously appeared on the R's transfer shortlist, doing so in January, whilst West Brom also looked to address their goalkeeping situation before moving to sign Max O'Leary from Bristol City on an initial short-term contract.

However, the latest report states that Rangers are the only one of the two Championship clubs with renewed interest ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

It has been claimed that Jurado is also a strong candidate to move to European football this summer, with his performances for Juarez reportedly alerting those at the top of the Loftus Road hierarchy.

So far this season, Jurado has played 32 times for Juarez but has only been able to keep three clean sheets, meaning it could come as a surprise to Hoops fans that his signature has continuously been courted.

Sebastian Jurado isn't the only potential goalkeeping signing on Queens Park Rangers' radar

This season, Joe Walsh and Paul Nardi have kept just seven clean sheets between them for Rangers, whilst the latter is also set to be out-of-contract on June 30th after he penned a two-year deal in 2024 after signing from Belgian Pro League side, KAA Gent.

Furthermore, Jurado isn't the only goalkeeper who has recently been linked with a transfer to this part of the capital ahead of a critical summer window.

Indeed, it was recently claimed by Football Insider that Rangers are facing competition from Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday over the potential free transfer of Dundee FC shot-stopper, Jon McCracken.

As such, it remains to be seen who could be keeping net in W12 on a regular basis next season.
