Racing have yet to receive payments from Grêmio and Internacional for Nardoni and Carbonero, and are pursuing both clubs. The Argentine side took the Inter case to Fifa last year.

Inter signed Carbonero on loan at the start of last year, then made the deal permanent, but still have not paid the US$ 350,000 (R$ 1.8 million) loan fee. Racing de Alma reports that Inter also owe for the purchase, a claim Inter do not recognise as a debt.

The first instalment of the purchase is due between April and May this year. Inter view the deadline as current and say incoming revenues are earmarked to settle sums. The club admits the loan debt, cites cordial relations after Racing accepted the permanent deal without the fee, and sees the Fifa move as a guarantee of payment.

Grêmio paid only half of the opening instalment for midfielder Nardoni last month, depositing US$ 2 million (R$ 10.3 million) when US$ 4 million (R$ 20.6 million) had been scheduled. The total agreed fee is US$ 8 million (R$ 41.2 million). The club had expected revenues that have not arrived recently.

Inter are currently under a Fifa transfer ban related to the signing of Wanderson from Krasnodar. The club argues it attempted payment but banking restrictions linked to the war blocked the transfer. Over the past six months both teams have faced bans, with Grêmio punished in November over the Arezo deal and Inter hit in December, then swiftly resolving it.
