Racing Santander ‘to move for’ Dani Parejo | OneFootball

Racing Santander have registered interest in Dani Parejo as the veteran midfielder weighs up his next step in a subdued LaLiga market. According to Superdeporte, the club want to take him to El Sardinero this summer.

Parejo has had many calls this summer, but he is keeping calm and waiting for an offer that truly convinces him and allows him to remain a leading figure at the elite level.

He ended his Valencia spell after a summer in which Meriton offloaded leading players, some for nothing, including Parejo. Since leaving, he has won the Europa League, reached the Champions League semi-finals and finished high in the table on several occasions.

At 37 he is not the typical veteran winding down. Last season he played 32 LaLiga matches, 2 in the Copa del Rey and 7 in the Champions League, more than 40 games in total, showing he can still run a midfield.

Racing already have talents such as Andrés Martín and Iñigo Vicente, and have added Canales and Zabiri among others. They would like to add the Madrid-born playmaker, though at this stage it remains only interest.
