Rafa bids farewell to Benfica with heartfelt message | OneFootball

Rafa Rodrigues said in an Instagram post that his 16-year association with Benfica has ended, adding that it will always be the club of his heart.

He recalled joining as a youngster with dreams and ambition, speaking of unforgettable moments, titles won and challenges overcome, and of growing as a player and as a person.

Rodrigues thanked coaches, team-mates, staff, directors and everyone who shared the journey, saying each had played a role and left lessons and memories for life.

He stressed that although his professional ties end here, Benfica will continue to hold a special place for him. He also saluted the supporters for their passion, backing and demands, values he said make the club special.

He called Benfica his home and said he will keep supporting from the stands and the pavilions, closing with thanks to the club.
