Rafa Silva makes his return to Benfica

Benfica have officially announced their second signing of the winter transfer window. The Lisbon club has reached an agreement with Beşiktaş and Rafa Silva for the Portuguese forward’s return to the Estádio da Luz.

The transfer is valued at €5 million, with bonuses that could increase the deal to €7 million. The 32-year-old has signed with the Eagles until June 30, 2028. This marks a highly symbolic return for Rafa Silva, who wore the Benfica colors from 2016 to 2024.

After moving to Turkey on a free transfer in the summer of 2024, Rafa Silva delivered strong performances for Beşiktaş, registering 39 goal contributions in 65 matches. However, family reasons prompted him to seek a swift return to Portugal.
