Leao moved to Milan in 2019 after a season at Lille. That 2018-2019 campaign yielded 26 matches, 8 goals and 2 assists, and the sale brought Lille nearly 50 million euros.

For Milan he recorded 291 appearances, 80 goals and 65 assists, and won Serie A in 2021-2022. Less decisive last season, he had spoken about moving on and confirmed his departure on Saturday.

With Galatasaray he will play in the Champions League league phase, where Lille await. The trip to northern France is scheduled for 21 October.
