Rafael Obrador has asked to leave Benfica during the winter window and wants a move to Torino, who are pushing for an immediate deal.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Spain under-21 left-back welcomes a switch to Serie A and believes it could offer the regular minutes missing at Estádio da Luz.

Real Madrid are monitoring his situation and are considering triggering a buy-back clause, with a view to recalling him then loaning him to another club in Spain.

He featured briefly under Bruno Lage, but since José Mourinho’s arrival he has not played in official games and is not part of the manager’s plans, which has opened the door to a move to Serie A.

This season Obrador has made three appearances for Benfica, one in Liga Portugal Betclic and two in the Segunda Liga. Across 237 minutes he has one goal and one assist. He is valued at two million euros and is under contract until June 2030.
