Ramsey, Begovic, Vestergaard updates as illness likely rules Ramsey out of Leicester trip to Watford | OneFootball

Aaron Ramsey is unlikely to feature at Watford on Saturday, with illness set to delay his Leicester City return. It is likely to be the same squad as in recent games.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the midfielder had trained for a couple of weeks after a hamstring issue and was due to travel, but missing sessions in midweek means he is not expected to be involved. It would have been his first appearance of 2026.

Centre-back Jannik Vestergaard is close after a hernia operation in January, but his return is more likely to come at Preston on Good Friday.

Gary Rowett said Vestergaard and Harry Souttar have trained in parts of sessions as their workloads are managed. He does not anticipate either will be involved, and he ruled Souttar out given his 15 months on the sidelines.

Asmir Begovic remains on course for April. Rowett added that Ramsey might be close after the international break, and Begovic might follow around then or shortly after.

Rowett reported no fresh injuries and said selection calls are now about what the team needs. Beyond Ramsey, Begovic, Vestergaard and Souttar, only Victor Kristiansen is sidelined, and he is expected to miss most of the rest of the campaign.
