Rangers Legend Keen For New CEO To Use Man Utd Experience | OneFootball

Ex-Rangers striker Kris Boyd has insisted that it will be a challenge for the Gers’ new CEO Patrick Stewart to bring stability to the club, but is hoping to see him use his experience from his Manchester United spell to good effect.

The Glasgow giants have faced criticism this season due to their lack of consistency in the Scottish Premiership, which sees them at real risk of finishing outside the top two.

Philippe Clement’s side are eleven points behind their arch-rivals and league leaders Celtic after only 12 league games and already look out of the title race.

Now they have appointed Stewart as the club’s new CEO but Boyd made it clear that the Gers need to improve on the pitch first and foremost.

The former Rangers star man is well aware that Stewart has a tough job on his hands but also pointed out that Stewart has experience from his time at Manchester United which he could potentially use to good effect.

“Rangers need stability”, Boyd said on Sky Sports Scotland about his former club.

“They need someone at the top, the person who is going to be running the show, they do need someone.

“Because it has been a lack of clarity, in terms of making decisions.

“You have got to say that the decisions over the last period of time for Rangers, from the top to bottom, have not been good enough.

“And Patrick is obviously going to come on and [I would] imagine, use all his experience he had at Manchester United, another club that have been through a tough period of time.

“If you can get it right at Rangers, you know the rewards and I am sure he will be looking forward to the challenge.

“It is not going to be easy; his past experiences, he can call up on, rely on, but it is not going to be easy.

“And for Rangers there is a bit of stability down now and going forward.

“And once he starts from 16th December, so it is a little bit of stability down now and see where it take Rangers.

“But the big thing is Rangers need to get better on the pitch.”

Stewart was with the Red Devils for almost 18 years and was recently he was the interim CEO at Old Trafford.
