Rangers sign Hannover midfielder Daisuke Yokota | OneFootball

Daisuke Yokota has left Hannover 96 to join Rangers, with the attacking midfielder moving to the Scottish club who are in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.

He originally joined the German second division side on loan from KAA Gent in summer 2025. Last season he made 31 appearances, scoring five and providing four assists.

Hannover then exercised their option to sign the 26-year-old permanently earlier this summer, before agreeing his switch to Glasgow.

Hannover managing director Jonas Boldt said the club activated the clause because of Yokota’s clear quality and their wish to keep him, while acknowledging he had a market and an ambition to play in the Bundesliga.

Boldt added that Hannover would only sanction a departure under conditions that met their expectations, and the club now wish Yokota success in the next stage of his career.
