Rangers centre-back Robin Propper is close to re-joining FC Twente after finally agreeing a long-term contract with his former club, according to Sky Sports News.
The 31-year-old joined the Ibrox club last summer and featured in 43 games across all competitions for Rangers at the end of his debut campaign.
However, the Light Blues and the Eredivisie club agreed a deal for Propper to return to Twente earlier this month, and while the move initially stalled over personal terms, the defender has finally agreeing a long-term contract.
He is now set to leave Rangers and is in the Netherlands for a medical ahead of a return to his former club.
The Dutchman featured in 43 games across all competitions for the Scottish Premiership club last term, but he failed to establish himself as a regular and is not in the plans of new manager Russell Martin.
Propper was left out of the matchday squad when Rangers faced Panathinaikos in the first-leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League on Tuesday, and his exit is expected to be officially announced soon.
The Light Blues have brought in Nasser Djiga on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers as his replacement, and the Burkina Faso international played a huge role to help secure a 2-0 win for the Gers at Ibrox on Tuesday.
Rangers reportedly had a growing concern with how Propper seemed unable to complete a full 90 minutes a few months into his arrival last summer, finishing seven of the first 13 games he featured in across all competitions.
It is unknown whether that contributed to his imminent departure, but Martin has been making much-needed changes to his squad as he prepares to challenge Celtic and qualify for the league phase of the Champions League in 2025-26, and a few more exits could be on the cards in the coming weeks.
