To play for a club like FC Barcelona, players need to devote themselves completely to the cause. After all, the Catalan club is no ordinary home and it is certainly unlike any other team in the world. Built on a unique identity and vision, Barcelona has always been a special place.
Even today, despite having a mixed squad that contains both youth products and players from outside, the club remains as united as ever. Moreover, it seems that every player has a good idea of what it means to play for a team like Barcelona.
However, nothing speaks louder than actions at the end of the day. In that regard, perhaps Raphinha’s latest gesture dedicated towards Barcelona speaks incredibly loudly after having helped them to a domestic treble this season.
As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian star and Barcelona captain covered the distance of the Montjuic Stadium’s entire pitch on his knees as he continues his proud tradition of doing so after accomplishing meaningful things with his teams. He did so previously with Leeds United, and he has now done it for Barcelona as well.

To put things into context, Raphinha previously performed a similar gesture for Premier League side Leeds United as well when he played for them. After helping them avoid relegation from the English First Division by winning 2-1 against Brentford, a game in which he scored as well, he crawled across the pitch on his knees as well back in 2022.
Now, all the way forward in 2025, he has done the same for Barcelona at the Montjuic Stadium after having won the domestic treble with the team. From one end to the other, he covered the distance on his knees with his family next to him.
The entire moment was captured by his partner on camera and was even uploaded on social media. It even clearly showcased his knees being red from covering the ground on them, but the player seemed more than happy to do it.
While no one is always right about the future, it is still safe to assume that Raphinha will be continuing with the Catalan club. His performances this season have been simply world-class, and work is already being done on his contract as per Joan Laporta himself.
However, a recent report has also claimed that there are some things left to sort out. The player and Barcelona do still have some differences left to iron out, but it seems likely that sooner or later an agreement will be reached and Raphinha’s stay at the club will be extended.
