After having shown his world class abilities with FC Barcelona since his arrival in 2022, the Brazilian winger Raphinha now has another big challenge awaiting him, i.e., leading his national team to glory in the World Cup 2026, which is set to kick-off tonight, on Thursday.

The Canarinha would be playing their first game of this tournament against Morocco in the early hours of this coming Sunday. As SPORT has reported, Raphinha, being one of the leaders of this Brazilian team, addressed a press conference ahead of this match, and highlighted his commitment for Barcelona more than once, while mainly talking about the Selecao.

The winger made it clear that he will continue to give his everything for both his club and country:

“As long as my body holds up and allows me to, I’ll keep giving everything and doing my best for Barça… and also for the Seleção.”

“I’m someone who demands a lot from myself — much more than any coach or fan could demand from me. I’m constantly trying to test myself to find out how far I can go. I’ve done it throughout my career, now at Barça and with Brazil.”

The Blaugrana captain admitted that his performances with the national team have not been at the same level as his performances with Barcelona:

“At Barça I’ve performed much better than I have with Brazil. I’m not being hypocritical. Now my challenge is to reach the same level with the Seleção that I’ve achieved in Barcelona.”

Meanwhile, he also highlighted his contributions for the Brazilian team:

“I’ve contributed a lot to the Seleção and, in this latest cycle, I’ve shown a good level of play. If people now expect me to play the way I do at Barça, I take it as a compliment, because it means I have the ability to do it.”

Raphinha rued some of his recent injury problems as they caused him to miss quite a lot of games for his national team:

“It’s true that I missed half of Brazil’s matches since Ancelotti became coach. It hurt me a lot, because I always want to play, for Barça and for my national team. Now I want to give everything for the coach and for the group.”

With his national team, the Barcelona forward is training under the former Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, but he made it clear that he has a good relationship with him and was now thinking of putting in some great performances for him:

“I think he is very satisfied with my contribution to the Seleção, both in matches and in training.”

“We’ve always had a good relationship, which started when he coached Real Madrid and faced us. There’s mutual respect. Fortunately, when playing for Barça against him, I had some great performances. Now the time has come to do it with Brazil, with him by my side and all of us pulling together.”

The winger also highlighted how his form at Barcelona would help him in the World Cup:

“Thanks to my time at Barcelona and the experience I’ve accumulated over these last years playing there, I now feel much more prepared to face the second World Cup of my career. With Brazil, I now take on the same responsibility that I have at my club.”

Barcelona fans would definitely be happy to see Raphinha reiterate his commitment to the Blaugrana club even while he is away on international duty. Hopefully, he would have a great World Cup, and would return to the Catalan side in great spirits for the next season, even as .
