During an interview on xBuyer’s YouTube channel, Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford dropped a major hint that he wishes to join Barcelona this summer.
The 27-year-old attacker has been heavily linked with the Blaugrana since January and has not hidden his desire of wanting to join the La Liga champions, claiming that he wishes to play alongside Lamine Yamal.
During the interview, Rashford made several notable statements regarding Barcelona. Most significant is his response when asked whether he would like to play with Lamine Yamal.
“Yes, of course. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully, we’ll see,” said the Englishman.
His praise for the Barcelona star does not stop there, as he said: “He’s going to be…. It’s hard to describe in words what he’s doing because he shouldn’t be doing this at 16-17 years old.
“He’s playing at the elite level at just 17, I don’t think we’ve seen that before.”
“For him it’s normal. To have that mentality is a skill. It’s not normal to be able to do what he does. Not just now, because he’s going to get better. In three years’ time we don’t know what we’re going to say about him,” Rashford added.

The Manchester United forward also commented on Lamine’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or, saying:
“It depends on how you rate that. If you just value ability I think yes, he can win it. But if you look at Dembele, the Champions League, the league they won…. It depends how you look at it.”
In addition to his compliments for Lamine Yamal, Rashford dropped several other hints throughout the interview, such as his admiration for Spain as a country and including Xavi, Andres Iniesta, and Lionel Messi in his all-time eleven.
However, one key point that should not go unnoticed is his take on his own playing position, as he likened himself to another Barça icon, Thierry Henry.
“I think I identify myself with Henry. He was comfortable playing on the left and also in the middle. He was a free player,” he said.
“As I’ve grown, the position of “9” is becoming more comfortable, more natural. Things like playing with my back to goal is becoming easier for me. You’re always in front of the goal and you’re always dangerous,” he added.
This statement reinforces his versatility and the potential value he could bring to Barcelona, making it clear that even with the possible signing of Nico Williams, Rashford’s arrival would strengthen the team across multiple positions.
