Marcus Rashford has revealed he is gaining valuable lessons since completing his summer loan move to Barcelona.
The English forward joined the Spanish side ahead of the 2025 season and has quickly begun to make an impact.
The 27-year-old was the difference for Hansi Flick’s side in their 2-1 win over Newcastle, scoring both goals away from home.
His performance was key in helping the Catalan club secure victory in their opening Champions League outing.
Speaking after the match, Rashford highlighted how the switch has been a significant step in his career. In his post-match chat with TNT Sport, the striker explained how much he is improving.
“I’m learning a lot, it’s a new style of football. But it’s making me a better player. Honestly, it’s an amazing experience. I’ve always been a huge admirer of Barcelona, every player my age has watched them play, it’s amazing football.”
He went further by describing how he managed to score one of his goals on the night. According to him, the first half was difficult, but he was able to seize his chance.
“The first half was cagey, we tried to dominate and did in spells. There was a split second where I could spot a gap, I could see the far post and gave it a bit of lift, I aimed high and I knew when I caught it, it would take something for the goalkeeper to stop it.”
The forward also underlined his drive to succeed under Flick, adding that he feels pushed to continue improving. He pointed out the level of competition in the Champions League and stressed that Barcelona must keep working hard.
“I’m motivated, determined, the quality here is exciting. The team is so young, it’s refreshing. We know how tough the competition is so this year it’s about improving and trying to go one step more.”
Barcelona will now look to carry the momentum into domestic action. Their attention turns back to La Liga, where they host Getafe next at the Camp Nou.
