Rasmus Kristensen ready to go again after Midtjylland return | OneFootball

Speaking at his press conference upon returning to his boyhood club, Rasmus Kristensen made it clear that he was ready to go again and help his team reclaim the Danish Superliga crown.

The 28-year-old is coming home after a two-year spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, who are receiving €6 million to let him go.

“Rasmus came to us and told us of his wish to return home. As well as being a very good footballer, he’s also a family man for whom it is very important to be close to his family,“ said Eintracht’s board member for sport Markus Krösche in the official press release confirming Kristensen’s departure.

“It was not easy to let him go, but we had no desire to prevent him from fulfilling his wish and agreed to his departure once we had negotiated with Midtjylland. We would like to thank Rasmus for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future in his sporting and his personal life.”

The Denmark international, who spent the 2023/24 season in Italy on loan at Roma from Leeds United, is coming off a 2025/26 season that saw him sidelined on multiple occasions due to injury. While he did make 28 appearances for Frankfurt across all competitions, he missed as many as 16 games for club and country due to ankle and muscle injuries.

In the 2024/25 season, the defender had muscular and hamstring lay-offs, but he is not worried about those setbacks and believes he will be on the pitch to help the Midtjylland take the Danish title from Aarhus.

He told Get Italian Football News: “No [concerns]. Not regarding my injuries, not regarding my body.

“My ankle injury was pure unluck [sic], it can happen anyday, anytime. My muscular injuries, they can always happen, they’re smaller injuries.

“I have no doubt, no worries. I know how to take care of my body and how prevent these things, so together with the training team and the medical staff, I’ll hope I’ll be fit.”

After clinching the Superliga title in 2023/24, the Ulvene have finished the next two seasons as runners-up to first København and then Aarhus. This season, the reigning Danish Cup champions will be banking on Kristensen’s experience and leadership on the back to take them back to the summit.
