Rating all 17 of Florent Ghisfoli's Sunderland signings, with two 10s and one 3 | OneFootball

Sunderland’s Premier League return has been highly successful so far, with safety virtually secured and Florent Ghisolfi now central after Kristjaan Speakman’s exit. This review rates all 17 of his signings across the last two windows.

Sunderland Echo notes that Granit Xhaka and Robin Roefs earned 10/10, while Arthur Masuaku received 3/10. Xhaka’s leadership and control have been pivotal, and Roefs has been a revelation in goal.

High scorers included Noah Sadiki and Nordi Mukiele at 9.5, with Omar Alderete and Brian Brobbey at 9 and Reinildo at 8. Sadiki’s dynamism set the early tone, Mukiele’s experience and aerial dominance underpinned the defence, Alderete looked astute, Brobbey became a focal point and Reinildo excelled when fit.

Chemsdine Talbi, Lutsharel Geertruida and Melker Ellborg were judged 7.5, with Habib Diarra and Nilson Angulo at 7. Bertrand Traoré scored 7 after a bright start curtailed by AFCON and injury, Simon Adingra and Marc Guiu each took 5, and Jocelin Ta Bi was not rated due to injury.

Ghisolfi blended long-tracked young talent with top-level experience, quickly aligning with Le Bris’s style and the division’s demands. The club cannot spend as heavily again, so the challenge is to add potential without losing solidity. From this summer he will work within his rebuilt recruitment structure, and any shifts in strategy will be closely watched.
