Raul Asencio diagnosed with bacterial enterocolitis, recovering at home | OneFootball

Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio was hospitalised on Saturday and is now recuperating at home.

The club said in a statement that medical tests diagnosed bacterial enterocolitis, he is being treated at home, and his progress will be monitored closely.

He had suffered vomiting and lost nearly six kilograms across the past two weeks, and was admitted to determine the cause of his illness.

Asencio started against Girona in La Liga on 10 April, a 1-1 draw, but missed Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg.

He is unlikely to be available for the league match against Alavés on Tuesday at 21:30.
