Rayan Bamba to join Le Mans on season loan without option after Rennes extension | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Rennes are set to loan 22-year-old defender Rayan Bamba to promoted Le Mans for 2026-27 without an option to buy, after he extends his contract to 2028 as reported by Le Parisien.

The move would represent Le Mans’ fourth summer signing, following permanent deals for Billal Brahimi, Louis Mafouta and Yasser Larouci.

Bamba has been under contract at Rennes since 2021 but has yet to make his Ligue 1 debut. He featured mainly for the reserves before loans to Concarneau in National and to Nancy, where he played 20 Ligue 2 matches last season.

A right-back by trade, the Franco-Ivorian could operate as a right wing-back in Patrick Videira’s preferred 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2.

Barring a late hitch, he should be cleared to feature in Saturday’s friendly against Angers once the move is made official.
