RB Leipzig have agreed a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion to take attacking midfielder Brajan Gruda on loan, with a conditional obligation to buy. According to NY Times, the agreement covers an initial temporary move that would become permanent if stipulated conditions are met.

The 23-year-old Germany Under-21 international joined Brighton in August 2024 from Mainz. He made 39 Premier League appearances under Fabian Hurzeler, scoring two goals.

He returned to Germany in February 2026, moving to Leipzig on an initial six-month loan.

Gruda started eight matches in the run-in and produced six goal involvements, three goals and three assists. Leipzig finished fourth to requalify for the Champions League, a recovery after placing seventh in 2024-25.

Ole Werner was dismissed in June despite that upturn, with Martin Demichelis taking over. The former Manchester City and Bayern Munich defender previously managed River Plate, Monterrey and, most recently, Mallorca, where he oversaw 12 league games.

He will become Leipzig’s third signing of the summer, following midfielder Rocco Reitz and Japanese midfielder Ota Yamamoto, who has joined from RB Omiya within the Red Bull network.
