Sky Germany reports that RB Leipzig are planning to sell several of their unwanted players in the winter to raise funds.
The players on the club’s sell list are Timo Werner, who was linked with a move to the MLS in the summer, Lukas Klostermann, Amadoua Haidara and Kevin Kampl.
Leipzig had planned to sell the quartet in the summer, but was unable to attract any offers, so they will now look to sell them in the January transfer window. At the Red Bull Arena, they expect to earn €30m from the player sales, while getting the salary of Werner off the books will also help.
Despite a 6-0 loss to Bayern Munich on the opening day of the season, Leipzig have gone unbeaten in all competitions since. At the weekend, they beat Stuttgart 3-1 to leave them in second place, five points off of top spot, whilst they also drew 1-1 with Borussia Dortmund earlier in the season.
After the blip against Bayern, Leipzig have begun to gel, meaning that the aforementioned quartet are surplus to requirements at the club. In attack, Romulo, Antonio Nusa, Yan Diomande and Johan Bakayoko occupy the three spaces, meaning there is no room for Timo Werner.
While in midfield, Nicolas Seiwald, Assan Ouedraogo and Christopher Baumgartner have proved to be a strong trio in the middle of the park.
