RB Leipzig remain in pursuit of RCD Mallorca midfielder Samú Costa following Demichelis' appointment, Sky Germany reports.

The 25-year-old was already high on Leipzig’s extended list of central midfield targets before the club moved for Demichelis, and has climbed the rankings since the coaching change.

Leipzig are actively considering him, though Costa is not a specific demand from Demichelis. He is one of several options for a position regarded as reasonably well stocked for next season.

The situation could heat up, but it has not reached that stage yet. The club have monitored the World Cup participant for some time.

The Portuguese international previously worked under Demichelis at his last club, RCD Mallorca. Last season he recorded seven goals and two assists in 34 La Liga outings for the Balearic side.
