RB Leipzig ‘to wait’ on Brighton as Gruda wants to stay | OneFootball

Brajan Gruda has informed RB Leipzig he wants to remain beyond the summer after his loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. The club are now awaiting Brighton’s response.

"We have received clear signals from Brajan that he wants to stay with us," RB Leipzig managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer told Bild. "We also want that and value him highly. Now we're waiting for a signal from Brighton & Hove."

The main hurdle is the fee Brighton would seek, with any deal well above €20 million considered beyond Leipzig this summer. "It's clear that we have strict financial limits," Schäfer said.

As things stand, a loan extension appears the most realistic route, potentially with an obligation to buy in the following season.

Brighton paid a reported €31.5 million to sign Gruda from Mainz in 2024.
